the goethe-institut london has asked us to redesign their bi-monthly programme. the first one will come out in march/april 2004.

october 2003

the national centre for languages (cilt) has commissioned us to do the branding for 'languages work'. the work will start in november and the new brand will be in place by august 2004.

juli 2003
1
the team 'office 21' at the fraunhofer institut (iao) commissioned us to do their second book. the first one was published in 2000 by the vgs verlag in cologne. we will be responsible for the overall look and design of the 242 page book and oversee editing, translation and photography. the book will be published in march 2004.

the goethe-instiut central office in munich commissioned us to work on the promotion of a world tour (posters, postcards, website) they are organising featuring 2 german musicians. more news to follow...

the royal institute of british architects (riba) has commissioned us to design the 224 page book 're-readings' which will be publised in january 2004.

june 2003:

the lemmens verlag in bonn commissioned us to do the jacket design of a publication for the dfg (deutsche forschungsgemeinschaft)

the one day 'digital office collection' exhibition sponsored by the times and gestetner will open at the ica (institute of contemporary art) on the mall in london on the 16. june. we came up with the concept and design of the show as in the two previous years.

reed business information has commissioned us to do a total redesign of their logo and brand 'salon exhibitions'. the implementation will take place throughout the year 2004.

may 2003:

the german chancellor of the exchequer (bundesfinanzministerium, referat postwertzeichen) has invited us to enter design solutions for a stamp that will be published on valentine's day 2004.

one of our posters for the royal college of art exhibition in japan 2002 has been selected for the '100 best posters in germany, switzerland and austria 2002'. an exhibition with the posters will open in berlin on the 19. june 2003. the book 'the 100 best posters 2002' will be published by verlag hermann schmidt mainz in june 2003

we gave a talk at the royal college of art in london about our work. the series of lectures with the title 'together' were organized by the communication, art & design department.

we gave a one week workshop for 18 students on typography in the merz akademie in stuttgart.

we are currently designing two books for the london and new york based publisher merrell. one is called Œgerman art now¹ by cornelia homburg and is in collaboration with the saint louis art museum, usa. the other one is on the work and life of textile designer 'jack lenor larsen' with the title 'the hand & the eye'.

daad (deutscher akademischer austauschdienst / german academic exchange service) in london has commissioned us to redesign their newsletter and the funding brochure/poster 2004.

april 2003:

arnoldsche art publishers in stuttgart commissioned us to design a book on the norwegian jewellery designer and artist 'tone vigeland'. the book will be published in autumn 2003.

klingele card manufacturer (stuttgart) commissioned us to develop a new logo and indentity for their new company subdivision ‘kps’ (klingele packaging services)

march 2003:
'imraum gmbh' in kaiserslautern (germany) commissioned us to develop a marketing concept and advertising strategy for their wood house 'holzhaus eins' and an identity for the company itself.

february 2003 :
the now in the second year running 'learn german' poster and postcard campaign, funded by the goethe-institute, the german academic exchange service (daad) and others, was launched at a press talk. the concept and the design of the campaign was by us, and won, like last year, a best '100-best-posters' award.

december 2002:
the fraunhofer institut (iao, marktstrategie team usability engineering) has commissioned us to redesign their presentation material, which is used by every member of the group.

october 2002:
a book published by phaidon press called ‘
problem solved
and written by michael johnson will feature design work
by us.


september 2002:

our design for the poster campaign 'learn german'
was selected for the ' 100 best posters of the year 2001'.
presentation of the results will be in an exhibition and catalogue
from 14 june to 17 august in berlin. the campaign has also
been featured in graphics international and design week.

brighten the corners' has designed daad's 75th anniversary
booklet
, which traces their history as a facilitator and sponsor
of academic exchange between germany and the uk, and germany
and ireland. the 48 page booklet (size: a6 landscape) will be
published on the day of the reception, the 11th june at the
daad london office, 34 belgrave square, marking the anniversary.

may 2002:
'contemporary rugs' published by merrell and designed
by us is now out in the bookshops.

april 2002:
'30 bridges' published by laurence king, written by matthew wells
and hugh pearman and designed by us is now in the bookshps.
